AMBIVALENCE IN LITERARY TEXT

Abstract. In the article the authors make an attempt to analyze the deliberately created ambivalence in a literary story from the perspective of cognitive science. The description of linguostylistic peculiarities of ambiguous fragments allows classifying the revealed ambivalent structures and exposing their functional load in the author's world view modelling. The cognitive-discursive analysis shows that the interdisciplinary model of discourse processing is also realized successfully while the interpreting of the literary text with ambivalent fragments. The model of situation is a basis for text understanding. The process of understanding and further interpretation takes place with the use of different strategies.
