THE SCRIPT OF PALATALIZED L AS ONE OF PECULIARITIES OF CENTRAL-FRENCH SCRIPTS

Vorobei Mariya Sergeevna
Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia

Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of the script of palatalized l in the central-French charters of the XIII century. Owing to the scriptological approach the author explains the presence of phonetic-graphic variants in the texts of medieval manuscripts and reveals their correlation with regional written traditions (scripts). On the basis of comparative analysis of the script of word forms with palatalized l , the conclusion is drawn that despite the change of articulation [?]>[j] which took place in the XIII century, scribes tried to fix the pronunciation of palatalized l .
Key words and phrases: скриптология, нормализаторская деятельность скрибов, история французской орфографии, фонетико-графические варианты, палатализация, scriptology, normalized activity of scribes, the history of French spelling, phonetic-graphic variants, palatalization
