ON THE ROLE OF CONSTRUCTIVIST THEORY OF KNOWLEDGE IN MODERN LINGUODIDACTICS

Abstract. The requirements of competence approach to the process of education dictate the necessity to reconsider the roles of a teacher and a student in the joint process of education. This makes the conduct of the analysis and comparison of certain propositions of psychological theories which are the basis of the process of knowledge acquisition topical. The role of constructivist theory in the context of new educational culture is considered.
