LINGUO-DIDACTIC POTENTIAL OF AUDIO VISUALIZATION WHILE USING POPULAR-SCIENCE VIDEO FILMS IN TEACHING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE TO THE UNDERGRADUATES OF NON-LINGUISTIC FIELDS OF TRAINING

Abstract. The article specifies the term "audio visualization" in the context of teaching a foreign language to the undergraduates of non-linguistic higher school. The paper shows that audio visualization can serve as a basis for developing skills in the various spheres of speech activity. The author reveals the methodological potential of popular-science video films for developing audio-visual skills, describes the possibilities for the formation of communicative competence and its components using authentic video films.
