PHONETIC ASPECTS OF VERBAL INFLUENCE IN BRITISH POLITICAL SPEECH

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problems of verbal influence in British political discourse and its realization at the phonetic level. The author touches on the problem of correlation of meaning and acoustic form of lexical units. Relying on the experimental phonetic research the author identified and analyzed the phono-esthetic criteria of words in British political discourse, designed a matrix of phono-esthetically attractive syllabic and segmental markers of this type of discourse.
