MEANS FOR EXPRESSING EMOTIONAL STATES IN INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATION AND INTERNET-COMMUNICATION

Abstract. The article examines the problem of the specifics of communicating emotional states in interpersonal communication face-to-face with two functioning channels of information transfer - verbal and non-verbal. The author analyzes the distinctive features of Internet-communication, in which there is no visual channel of communication, and graphic symbols - emoticons - serve as non-verbal means. The problem of the comparative analysis of the functioning of non-verbal means and emoticons is of special interest for further research.
