SPEECH AGGRESSION IN THE BRITISH POLITICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of speech aggression manifestation in the British political discourse by the example of political speeches and interviews by British Prime Minister David Cameron. The analysis suggests the conclusion that speech aggression in the British political communication is the result of political discourse agonal nature and implemented with the help of linguistic means of communication strategies and tactics aimed at improving their own status and downgrading the status of opponents. Speech aggression as a feature of political discourse is clearly traced in the speeches of D. Cameron.
