Abstract. The article analyses the causes and conditions of the appearance of linguistic transformations while translating from the English into the Russian language. Properly linguistic factors include: the development of aspect and tense system of the English verb; differences in syntactic models of the English and Russian languages; eurysemy of English analytical verbs; stylistic factors. It is necessary to note culturological peculiarities and requirements of political correctness among extralinguistic causes of the appearance of linguistic transformations.
