Abstract. The article aims to study the poetics of tragic as a form of imaginative thinking and its representation in the tragedy by A. Gilyazov "Three Measures of Soil" which shows the tragedy of a person who suffered severe trials of life. The problem of characters’ counteracting the tragic circumstances in a hopeless situation is the basic one and is solved differently.
