GENDER FEATURES OF SITUATIONAL MODALITY MEANINGS REALIZATION IN NEWSPAPER PUBLICISTIC DISCOURSE

Abstract. This article presents the results of a functional and semantic analysis of language means expressing the modal meanings, used by men and women in the public conversation. The study suggests the conclusion about the strong expressiveness of gender specificity in the realization of situational modality meanings. Gender differentiation is manifested in the character and in the communicative goals of using the explicators of modal meanings: obligation / necessity, possibility and desirability.
