THE PECULIARITIES OF POLITICAL MEDIA DISCOURSE OF TWITTER

Kobrin Natal'ya Vasil'evna
Moscow

Abstract. The article is devoted to the English political media discourse. In the work the notion "media discourse" is described in contemporary linguistics. The evidences are given that Twitter is a new high technology system of communication, used as the means of constructing media reality, while media constructs reality that is not reality itself. The significance of the two-stage flow model of communication, according to which the spreading information doesn’t have a direct influence on all communicants, is highlighted. The constructed media reality is an important source of information for individuals (informal leaders, political establishment), who, using their influence on the society, convey it to the rest of the audience in a more transformed (perverted) manner. The paper gives the definition of the term "twitter-revolution". Some peculiarities of a political media discourse in a micro blog of Twitter are presented briefly.
Key words and phrases: дискурс, медиадискурс, политический медиадискурс, Твиттер, твиттер-революция, медиатексты, discourse, media discourse, political media discourse, Twitter, Twitter-revolution, media texts
