THE SYMBOLICS OF NATURE IN THE POETRY OF M. FEDOTOV: SEMANTIC FACETS AND PSYCHOLOGICAL CONTEXTS

Arzamazov Aleksei Andreevich
Udmurt Institute of History, Language and Literature of Ural Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences

Abstract. The article deals with the complex of natural images and their semantic connotations in the late works of Mikhail Fedotov, who is an Udmurt-Besermyan poet, one of the outstanding representatives of the modern Udmurt literature. In his poetry two artistic paradigms - symbolics of nature and urban images - being opposed to each other, make a conceptual opposition during simultaneous semantic interaction. The author identifies the dominant psychological contexts of natural poetic plots, and reveals the deep connections of M. Fedotov’s poetic worldview with Udmurt mythology, traditional culture, and the reality of the post-Soviet era.
