METAPHOR IN ECONOMICS VS ECONOMIC METAPHOR

Abstract. The article examines economic discourse as a sphere of attraction of metaphors from different branches of knowledge and as a source for expansion of metaphors in such types of discourse as political, sporting, linguistic, etc. The special attention is paid to the intertextual and inter-discursive nature of a metaphor. Both phenomena are associated with the openness and possible relations between the texts (discourses) in the general cognitive space.
