Abstract. The article reveals the content of the concept "diplomatic document", examines the basic types and stylistic peculiarities of diplomatic documents associated, first of all, with their functions and target audience. The author makes quantitative analysis of the vocabulary and focuses on the peculiarities of using lexical units some of which reveal the specifics of foreign policy of the state.
