SPECIFICS OF SEMANTICS OF THE RUSSIAN POSITIONAL VERBS

Abstract. The article examines the functioning of positional stative and processual verbs in the modern Russian language. The special attention is paid to such semantic peculiarities as the presence of non-positional components in the structure of positional verb and combination of oppositional semes in the same verb. On the basis of the analysis the author concludes on high semantic potential of positional verbs in the Russian language.
