NEW TENDENCIES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF JOURNALISM IN NIGERIA: CONVERGENT MEDIA AND ON-LINE JOURNALISM

Abstract. The article touches on the technification of the society in which information, knowledge and information technologies play a vital role. Such society is characterized by the use of phones, radio, television, Internet. Electronic media without which the country can’t develop also play a significant role. The author focuses on the challenges facing Nigerian Internet-journalism which influences the general development of media in the country. The paper examines the tendencies for the growth of Internet-journalism in Nigeria and tasks facing it.
