V. I. RASSADIN’S CONTRIBUTION TO THE YAKUT LANGUAGE STUDY

Abstract. The article is devoted to the research activity of Professor V. I. Rassadin who studied one of the Turkic languages - Yakut. The authors reveal the contribution of the scientist to the development of Yakut linguistics. Professor V. I. Rassadin for the first time translated Otto von B?htlingk’s work "On the Language of the Yakuts" from German into Russian and made it accessible to researchers. He detected the words of the Buryat and Mongol languages origin in the Yakut language and furthered the training and growth of scientific and teaching staff in the republic and the development of the Yakut linguistics.
