MICRO- AND MACROTEXT IN ANCIENT AND MIDDLE ENGLISH LEXICO-GRAPHICAL PRACTICE

Abstract. The article is concerned with the issue of describing Ancient- and Middle English special vocabulary in the format of micro- and macrotext by the examples of term system of borrowed naming units of vessel types (ships). "The national" principally Latin-French belonging of naming units against the background of intensive filling of English naval vocabulary at the expense of Scandinavian, primarily, Norman borrowings is emphasized.
