THE SYMBOL IN THE LYRIC POETRY OF M. YU. LERMONTOV: COGNITIVE AND LINGUOCULTURAL MECHANISMS OF CONSTITUTION

Uzentsova Elena Aleksandrovna
Southern Federal University

Abstract. The article discloses the cognitive and linguocultural mechanisms of symbolization, which allows focusing attention on the metonymic nature of a symbol. The author discusses the postulates of the basic concepts of the symbol, represented in the humanitarian paradigm. The main feature of symbol - to present the whole in the part - determines its domineering role in the structuring of the esthetic concept of the poet’s world. By the example of M. Yu. Lermontov’s poems it is shown that the symbol can organize the lyric plot and specify the main idea of the poetic text.
