THE ACTUALIZATION OF THE THYMIC CATEGORY IN THE TEXT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL EKPHRASIS

Abstract. The article examines the English language texts of psychological ekphrasis, actualizing the thymic category - the category of semiotics, connected with the evaluation "positive/negative", which is determined by the emotional state of euphoria/dysphoria. The process of perception of works of art by characters-recipients and emotions produced by them, verbalized in the text of ekphrasis with the emotional means of language, are analyzed.
