"DREAM" VS "DAYDREAM" (OR HOW NOT TO FALL VICTIM TO ONE’S OWN FANTASY)

Abstract. The article presents the results of the conducted experimental research aimed to identify and characterize the semantic structure of the English verbs-synonyms of the group of imagination "dream" and "daydream". Developed specially for the examined lexical stratum meta-language allowed successfully differentiating the use of the synonymic units through the description of a set of semantic features constituting the content of the semantic structure of the verbs.
