LEXICO-SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF THE PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS WITH A COMPONENT "EYE / ГЛАЗ" IN THE ENGLISH AND RUSSIAN LANGUAGES

Abstract. The article examines phraseological units with a component "eye / глаз" in the English and Russian languages according to the proximity of the expressed content. The author analyzes the semantic peculiarities of the mentioned units, provides the comparative analysis. In the course of analysis 123 phraseological units (PU) with a component "eye / глаз" are identified in the English language in comparison with 120 in the Russian. The paper tries to classify the PU data relying on the mentioned criterion.
