SOCIO-CULTURAL POTENTIAL OF A PRAGMATIC TEXT IN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE AT THE STAGE OF GENERAL SECONDARY EDUCATION

Abstract. The article touches on the problem of using pragmatic texts as a resource of socio-cultural information and a foundation to form socio-cultural competence. The paper shows the methodological potential of such texts conditioned by their functionality and high cultural value. At the same time the authors doubt the desirability to use them for teaching reading properly.
