Abstract. The article describes the peculiarities of Irish language, in particular, the author considers initial mutations, their causes and methods to use them in Irish grammar. The paper provides a survey of the initial mutation forms and analyzes the basic difficulties arising among the students-native speakers of Russian when studying initial mutation. The author provides examples of using initial mutations with their detailed description and explanation.
