Abstract. The article deals with means of intensity expression used in the Russian politicians’ speeches in terms of the strategic approach by the material of political debates on specific issues. In this regard, the author singles out verbal strategies and tactics within the framework of which the Russian politicians used various means of intensity expression. The paper substantiates the use of precisely these strategies and tactics in political debates, as well as the use of the means of intensity expression in them.
