TERMINOLOGICAL NEOLOGISMS: SELECTION CRITERIA OF TRANSLATION STRATEGIES

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of translation of non-equivalent terms-neologisms in modern conditions of continuous extension of the lexical composition of professional sublanguages. Special attention is paid to the loan words, which have entered the accepting term system as a result of transliteration and calquing. The authors examine the criteria for selecting an adequate translation strategy, taking into account syntactic, semantic and pragmatic characteristics of a created term, including conciseness, motivation, regularity, full meaning, compliance with the standards of translation language, international character.
