ON SEMIOLOGICAL FOUNDATIONS OF FRENCH RELIGIOUS MEDIA-DISCOURSE’S FEATURES

Abstract. The article examines media-discourse, in particular, its religious subtype, as a linguo-cognitive phenomenon, signs’ operational environment, sign-formative basis. The author argues that the considerable sign-formative potential of religious media-discourse is associated with interpretation process. The paper also analyzes the key features of religious media-discourse - coherence and cohesion - and concludes that the latter are related to the process of secondary designation of linguistic units.
