Abstract. The central problem of contemporary literature is concerned with the relationships of a man and new society. The interest towards the depiction of a personality, being in a critical situation of a turning era is increased. The article is devoted to the study of the mythological image of Devil as a form of creative thinking and its reflection in the Tatar drama by the example of Z. Khakim’s works. The plays show the tragedy of a man, who has his share of severe trials of life. Based on the presented analysis the paper explores the characteristic features of heroes of the modern Tatar drama.
