THE FORMATION OF THE FUND OF UST'-SYSOL'SK PUBLIC LIBRARY IN THE 1850S

Abstract. The article investigates the principles of the formation of book repertoire of Ust’-Sysol’sk Public Library in the 1850s. On the basis of a complex of archival documents, regulating the fund-forming activity of the library, and publications in the Russian and provincial press the author considers a number of fund replenishment sources, including the purchase, donations (contributions), free distribution of books and magazines to government offices. The paper describes the peculiarities of the formation of the fund components: manuscripts, books, periodicals.
