KINSHIP TERMS OF THE NAUKAN AND YUPIK LANGUAGES

Abstract. The article is devoted to studying kinship terms of the Naukan and Yupik languages. The author aims to identify the similar and specific features of the linguistic units expressing the internal social and inter-group relations of the mentioned ethnic groups. The research methodology involved comparative method, cognitive and component analysis. The conducted analysis allows the author to conclude that the linguistic units of kinship terms discover the specific features of inter-group relations which were also represented in the linguistic worldview.
