ETYMOLOGICAL MEANING OF ANTHROPONYMS AND TOPONYMS IN THE NOVEL BY W. MORRIS "CHILD CHRISTOPHER AND GOLDILIND THE FAIR"

Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of the motivation of proper names in the novel by the English writer William Morris. An etymological analysis of Morris’s anthroponyms and toponyms allows the researcher to describe their functioning in a literary text, discovers author’s idea and promotes deep text perception. The semantic and structural-morphological peculiarities of onyms allow identifying the meaning and origin of their initial forms.
