Abstract. The article examines the pre-literary written period originated under the influence of Russian Orthodox culture, explores the Orthodox motifs in the works of the founders of the Yakut literature. Pre-revolutionary Yakut literature was closely associated with Orthodoxy as a part of Russian culture. The author emphasizes that the works of the founders of the Sakha literature are characterized by the complicated synthesis of two beliefs - traditional religious beliefs of the Sakha people and official Orthodoxy address the same tasks of artistic image creation, interacting within the literary works.
