Abstract. The article shows the role of psychological mechanisms in teaching foreign language listening comprehension. The authors analyze auditory mechanisms from the viewpoint of their interaction. The paper concludes on the importance of interrelated functioning and formation of such mechanisms as comprehension, probabilistic forecasting and memory for more successful implementation of foreign language listening.
