ON DIFFERENTIATION OF CATEGORIES OF SEMANTIC SPACE AND SEMANTIC FIELD

Abstract. The article studies the categories of semantic space and semantic field, and considers the issue of the correlation and differentiation of these linguistic categories. Linguistics operates with the term "semantic field", linguistics and philosophy, physics, psycholinguistics appeal to the category "semantic space". In linguistics these two categories correspond as "part - whole", i.e. semantic field is a generic notion in relation to semantic space in connection with the formation of semantic fields within the framework of semantic space.
