Abstract. The article is devoted to studying pragma-linguistic approach while describing the category of "comical". Within the pragma-linguistic approach the author examines the comical speech act from the viewpoint of its internal and external structure. The locutionary act, illocutionary act and perlocutionary act are analyzed considering their internal structure; the addresser, comical text, addressee and laughter as a response to addressee’s interpretation of a text are investigated from the viewpoint of external structure.
