Abstract. The article is devoted to analyzing one of the poorly investigated categories of a literary text - the spatial-temporal continuum. The paper aims to explore the spatial-temporal continuum in the story by I. Bunin "Shrove Monday" with a view to identify linguistic and figurative means to transfer the observed continuity. The study indicated the relative autonomy of the spatial-temporal continuum while forming the story-line and symbolic functions of a literary work.
