Bogatyreva Svetlana Nikolaevna, Kaziakhmedova Svetlana Khanmagomedovna
Moscow State University of Humanities and Economics

Abstract. The subject of this study is a role of metaphor in the construction of the stereotypes of the English speakers’ ordinary consciousness. Metaphorization is regarded as a key means of the modeling and production of moral and political ideologemes, the development of the new senses of the reflection of the perception of social and political phenomena in national consciousness. The hypothesis is that the modeling of metaphorical meaning will allow studying the potential of the metaphor as a mechanism of the human’s exploration of the surrounding world and his/her interpretation of the world in verbal expression. The study of the mechanism of influence with the help of the metaphor will enable to be ready in the future to detect the signs of the psycholinguistic manipulation of consciousness.
