PHONO-SEMANTIC MEANS TO REPRESENT THE MEANING-TONALITY IN A LITERARY TEXT

Abstract. The article aims to identify the symmetry of sound symbolic relation between the sound of a word and its meaning, arising due to sound symbolism phenomenon. The authors analyze the basic phono-semantic means discovering the sound symbolic importance of a meaning-tonality in the text. The paper shows the peculiarities of creating symbolic sound metaphor as a basic means to represent the meaning - tonality which is considered as a linguistic category of expressivity and evaluation.
