PHRASAL VERB AS A PART OF THE PHRASEOLOGICAL SYSTEM OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Abstract. This article is devoted to the analysis of phrasal verbs in English and the comprehension of their essence as a part of the theory of phrasemes of the English linguistics. It is shown that phrasal verbs play a double role in the English phrasemics: they can be classified as idioms, due to their imagery and, at the same time, laconism in the information transmission, and as phraseological unities, due to the peculiarities of their grammatical structure. The study of phrasal verbs within the theory of the English phrasemes should be developed within the science of cultural linguistics, which deals with the anthropocentric communicative aspects.
