SPECIFICS OF FEMALE PERSONAGES’ VERBAL CHARACTERISTIC IN THE NOVEL BY MURASAKI SHIKIBU "THE TALE OF GENJI"

Abstract. The article discovers the peculiarities of verbal characteristic of female personages of the novel by Murasaki Shikibu "The Tale of Genji" which plays an essential role in portraying the novel’s personages on the whole. The study aims to analyze the different manifestations of heroines’ verbal characteristic. The author identifies the key aspects of verbal portraying and their influence on the novel’s place in the literature of the early Middle Ages.
