IMPERATIVE STRUCTURES OF THE ENGLISH PROVERBS

Kosonozhkina Lyudmila Valentinovna
Don State Technical University, Rostov-on-Don

Abstract. The article is devoted to the identification of the structural-semantic and national specificity of imperative sentences represented in the English proverbs (ISEP). The author concludes that the structure of the ISEP can be both full and elliptical with positive and negative semantics. Nationally marked ISEP are characterized by phraseological means of imagery creation typical of the English language only (often unmotivated). In ISEP translation into Russian a change of images takes place.
