IDENTIFICATION AND CLASSIFICATION OF METAPHORS BY THE MATERIAL OF THE BRITISH MUSICAL EDITION NME

Abstract. At present the theory of metaphor identification is widely used. In the research the content of the notion of the metaphor identification method (MIP) by the materials of the British music magazine NME (New Musical Express) is revealed. This method allows studying the mechanisms of metaphor identification. The applicability of the identification method with relation to the selected practical material is demonstrated. As a result of the study, a classification, consisting of three types of metaphors, is distinguished.
