BIOCOGNITIVE ONTOLOGY OF GRAMMATICAL CATEGORIES AND SYNTACTICAL CONSTRUCTIONS

Abstract. The article undertakes an attempt to approach an understanding of grammar of natural language in the light of biocognitive and bio-socio-cultural theory of human development. Thereby it is stated that the knowledge of grammar and grammatical categories is not that of syntactical constructions, forms or rules, but a cognitive routine (knowledge-action) based on the confidence of an organism in the effective adaptation to the changes of the linguistic and socio-cultural environment by means of changes in its own linguistic behavior, or combinatory and transformational modifications of lexical resources 'stored in memory'.
