IN THE WAKE OF CERBERUS: OSIP MANDELSTAM’S JOURNEY TO THE CRIMEA AS JOURNEY TO THE REALM OF THE DEAD

Abstract. The article is devoted to "The Crimean text" in O. Mandelstam’s creativity consisting of several poetic and prosaic works written under the impression from the journeys to the Crimea in 1920 and 1932. The journey to the Crimea is shown as a journey to the realm of the dead, and the proof of this is performed by the author of the article analysis of the images of dogs, the dogs pack, constantly repeated in Mandelstam’s "Crimean" poems and essays.
