Abstract. The article deals with the issue of Yiddish and contingent refugees in the FRG, the features of pronunciation and the dialectic differences in the Yiddish language, the characteristics of the sociolect Yiddish and the discursive communities of the Yiddish-German bilinguals. The revival of the language, which lost its role after the Holocaust, began at the end of the XX century: in Germany, in particular, due to contingent refugees. With all the differences in the social characteristics of the Yiddish-German bilinguals in the FRG there is a common feature: the idiom functioning in their discursive communities should be defined as a sociolelect, which, unlike the modern literary Yiddish language, experiences the German interference, in particular, in the field of phonetics.
Key words and phrases: идиш, территориальный диалект, идиш-немецкий билингвизм, европейское еврейство, интерференция, социолект, дискурсивное сообщество, Yiddish, territorial dialect, the Yiddish-German bilingualism, European Jewry, interference, sociolect, discursive community
