NATIONAL-CULTURAL SPECIFICITY OF THE LANGUAGE CONSCIOUSNESS OF THE ENGLISHMEN AND TATARS (BY THE EXAMPLE OF STUDYING THE ASSOCIATIVE FIELD OF THE CONCEPT "WATER")

Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of the individual features of the language consciousness of the native English and Tatar speakers through the associative field of the concept "water". The experimental data allow identifying some cognitive characteristics of the concept that are common for two languages, as well as individual features: in the English conceptual sphere - "ambivalence", "female beginning", "the world, the Universe", "comfort", "sadness, loneliness"; in the Tatar national conceptual sphere - "freedom, infinity", "feeling", "test, barrier".
