FUNCTIONING OF THE ISOLATED MEMBER OF SENTENCE AT THE TEXT LEVEL (BY THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH LITERATURE)

Abstract. In this article an attempt is made to analyze the role and semantic features of the isolated sentence members in the structure of the English text. As a result of the linguistic material analysis it is concluded that isolated sentence members acquire additional contextual connotations when functioning in the elementary thematic unit of the text - dicteme - where isolation is a marker of a communicative, suprasyntactic level.
