Potapova Elena Nikolaevna
Lomonosov Moscow State University

Abstract. The article deals with such social and historical processes as emancipation and feminization, and their influence on the formation of the female image in the animation industry by the example of the works of the studio "Disney". The author analyzes a number of popular heroines of Disney cartoons, appeared from 1937 to 2017, and observes the phased evolution of the characters. It manifests itself in a gradual change in the character and appearance, the mode of behaviour and the attitude toward marriage. The results of the research show that emancipation and feminization play a significant role in the formation of the female image in media products for children, becoming more and more vivid in every new movie.
