THE IMAGE OF THE USA IN THE MODERN RUSSIAN PRESS (BY THE EXAMPLE OF "NOVAYA GAZETA")

Abstract. The article is devoted to the study of the image of the USA in "Novaya Gazeta". It is proved that the newspaper shows the sustained interest in the events taking place in the United States. It is ascertained that in the thematic space of the identified publications the political sphere dominates, and one of the main newsbreaks was the election race, and the leading media people were American politicians, but the newspaper showed the interest in the themes of culture, society, less often - sports, crime and science, creating the multicomponent image of the USA.
