The author clarifies the specificity of transitional phenomena in the field of a norm. The paper analyses individual lexical units of the modern Russian language, which, in the author’s opinion, are at the stage of destruction of the former lexical norm and transition to a new one. Specific arguments for each of them, proving their transitional status at this stage of the operation, are provided.
